Volunteer with Community for Kids in Dare County
We believe everyone benefits when all children in our community thrive. Whether you’re a student, community member, or business owner, there’s a place for you to make a difference and see firsthand how your time and energy can change a child’s life.
High School Volunteers
Our needs vary throughout the year, and we coordinate with most high school volunteers through quick text and email updates. High school students play a vital role in keeping our programs running. High school tasks may include:
- Picking up donated clothing
- Sorting and organizing clothing
- Assisting with appointments at the center
- Supporting our social media outreach
- Helping with special events and programs
Whatever the task, you’ll have fun while making a difference in a younger child’s life.
Middle School Volunteers
Looking to connect with friends, meet mentors, and get involved in your community?
Community for Kids offers opportunities for middle school students to serve and learn.
Adult Volunteers
We depend on adult volunteers to provide mentorship and guidance. If you’re passionate about supporting kids, committing as little as two hours a month can make a lasting impact. Adult volunteer roles may include:
- Assisting with after-school and Saturday appointments
- Mentoring middle school students (about twice a month)
- Helping student volunteers participate in community programs
- Coordinating high school volunteer teams
- Developing and expanding our “Kid to Kid” mentoring and tutoring program
